Refreshers' week this year was an absolute success.
We welcomed everyone back to Cambridge on a chilled note with a cheeky film night held in our very own lecture theatre. Our welfare team (Isla and Jake), with whom we are working closely this year, provided hot chocolate and biscuits and were there for anyone wanting a chat whilst the audience’s choice of ‘Superbad’ played.
Following our chilled film night we stepped it up a gear and headed out into Cambridge for our Pub Crawl/Pub Pool night. Check out the facebook event here.
Navigating through our favourite bars and clubs in Cambridge (making use of the fantastic drinks deals negotiated by your Ents team) we travelled from Fitz to the infamous club Cindies (with music even cornier than our bops, this is the place to be on a Wednesday).
For anyone not fancying a trip to Cindies they had the opportunity to become the David Beckham of the pool world at the Isaac Newton (our first pub just down the road from Fitz)… easy to have some fun but still manage to get that early night.
On our final night the Ents team secured some reduced entry/queue jump tickets to another infamous club in Cambridge, Life. Meeting in the bar we created a mass exodus heading down the hill where students danced away any worries of the first two days of work.
The following evening saw the return of our infamous Pub Quiz. Questions written by our very own Eleanor Costello (academic affairs officer) featured 5 tough rounds with categories for all. The winning team took home a jackpot of £55!
Term starts on a Thursday here, so to celebrate the return of lectures we decided to throw a chilled evening of music in the bar, our very own version of an open mic night, ‘Fitz Sessions’ returned!
With a welcoming, chilled atmosphere anyone is welcome to perform whether as a soloist, duet or full on band we can cater for all. This Refreshers Fitz Sessions was particularly good and featured some never before heard Fresher acts! Check out the pictures below,
