Here, the involvement of students in voluntary community work is encouraged, through providing services to disadvantaged groups within the community. There are a variety of internal and external volunteering schemes on offer here, including the ‘ Big Sib’ scheme.

The Cambridge HUB encourages the involvement of students with social and environmental challenges in Cambridge and around the world. They are currently recruiting, and are welcoming applicants for Event’s Officer and Development Officer. (see below link for details) They also offer a ‘Social Innovation programme’ where students work alongside a local organisation, acting as external consultants to propose and implement innovative solutions to problems. This is the biggest University-wide student charity fundraising organisation. There are many fundraising challenges you can get involved in, including the following: Ugandan Gorilla project 2016 Borneo Trip 2016 Kilimanjaro Summit 2016 Skydiving Firewalk You can find out more about all of the challenges offered by RAG this year at their info evenings on 27th and 29th October 2015, 6pm in the Bateman Room in Gonville + Caius college.
