I am pleased to announce that the room contracts have been printed, and can be signed by yourself (and only yourself - proxy rules no longer apply) at the accomodation office. Unfortunately, the printing means that any changes to contracts now must be "exceptional" to be admitted. This means that I can no longer make any changes; please see Diane directly if you think you are entitled to a change.
Hopefully the following is a quick overview of the signing procedure:
1. What is the room contract?
The room contracts secure your room and the amoutn of weeks you have asked it for, as well as contain some additional information including what your room should contain.
2. Why do I need to sign it?
In order to secure your room, the contract must be signed.
3. When do I need to sign it by?
Unfortunately there has been a delay in the printing process. This means that the deadline which was in the rules cannot apply. Given the fact that many people have left college, it also seems unfair to put in place an arbitrary deadline. As such, the best that can be said is that IF you are in college, please sign the contracts, AND when you return to college, it would be best if it was seen as a general priority.
College will let me know when they want to put in place as a hard deadline. As soon as I know, I will let, of course, forward on to everyone any details.
Finally, please accept my thanks for all feedback that has been sent in - it will hopefully allow us to fully review the process, ahead of next year's ballot.
All the best for the vacation,
