Consequently we are trialling a lottery system. You have received a form in your pigeon hole, which we would urge you to return within the deadline therein specified: 14th November to the porters lodge. On this form you will be asked to indicate which Fitzmas night you wish to attend and any dietary requirements. PLEASE FILL IN ALL SECTIONS OR YOUR FORM WILL BE INVALIDATED WHEN DRAWN. Following on this there will be an extraction on the Sunday evening. The capacity for each super hall is 180.
For any queries, concerns, or suggestions, as always you are invited to the JCR meetings held regularly or to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
PS: Two points of clarification:
1) All that is changing with Fitzmas this year is that initial ticket allocation will be done via a lottery using paper forms, rather than using the usual online booking system. The results of the lottery will be given to Rob Clarke (the catering manager) who has kindly agreed to input the names of those drawn onto the online booking system. Once this has been done, you will be able to cancel tickets on the online system as usual (and book them, if spaces become available).
2) The paper form gives you the option of putting a friend's name down too. All this means is that if your form is drawn, that friend will also get a ticket for your preferred night. It does not mean that your friend cannot also submit a form, with you or someone else down as a friend. So your name can appear on multiple forms, and this will increase your chance of getting a ticket. (Note that if your name appears on more than one form that is drawn, you will only get one ticket, for the night specified on the first form drawn. The second person on the form would still be given a place, however.)
We appreciate that this change might be a bit confusing, so don't hesitate to get in touch if anything is unclear,
